本句的主干为a部分。b+c部分在冒号之后对a部分进行解释说明，其中b部分为该部分部分的主干，其中was to后面的have和then后面的have两个并列，只不过不是用and并列，而是then这个副词表示承接关系。c部分为非谓语动词结构做后置定语修饰前面的名词“a video camera”。

其次这个单词很多同学会和shoot混淆，这里我们将这两个单词稍做区分：shoot有两个个词性，分别如下：n. 射击;发射;摄影急流 v.射击;拍摄;给...注射;使…爆炸。

shot如果作为动词出现，那就代表是shoot的过去式和过去分词，词义与shoot一样;shot还可以单独作为名词出现，意思是“子弹,炮弹,击中，射击;(电影中的)镜头”。
