Dear President,

I am writing this letter to express my objection to the decision about closing down the sport center in our university.

我写这封信是为了表达自己对关闭学校运动中心的反对。

The primary reason why the sport center is not actively used by our students is that many sport facilities there are too shabby. Therefore, many of us prefer working out in a gym outside our university to using this free sport center.

运动中心之所不活跃是因为很多运动设施太过破旧，于是，很多人宁可去学校外面的健身房锻炼，也不愿意使用我们免费的运动中心。

I have two tips for you to encourage students to reuse it. First, some outdated sport facilities are supposed to be updated, and the updated ones need to be well-maintained by teaching staff regularly. Second, I personally suggest that our university should set up more selective courses related to indoor sports, which helps to make use of the sport center.

我提出两点建议鼓励学生重新使用运动中心。首先，一些过时的运动设施应该进行更新换代，新设施需要有教职人员来定期维护。另外，我个人建议咱们学校多开设一些和室内运动有关的选修课，这有助于让运动中心得以充分利用。
