I am pleased to hear that you have been enrolled at Peking University last month. I am writing this letter to express my congratulations on your success.

很高兴听说你上周已经被北京大学录取了。我写这封信是为了表达我对你的祝贺。

At first, I need to point out that you set a good example for me, and I need to learn from you in terms of how to prepare for the postgraduate entrance exam. One question that confuses me these days is that is it necessary to attend any training courses? I am not sure whether they will properly guide me on my preparation work. Besides, I am wondering if you could recommend me some reference books that would make me work more efficiently.
