Many people go to school for an education. 46 learn languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry and maths. Others go to school to learn a skill so that they can 47 a living. School 48 is very important and useful. Yet no one can learn everything from school. A teacher, no matter how much he 49 ,can not teach his students everything they 50 to know. The teacher’s job is to show his students how to read and how to 51.So much more is to be learned 52 school by the students themselves.

It is always more important to know how to study by 53 than to memorize (熟记)some facts or formula (公式).It is 54 quite easy to learn a 55 fact in history or a formula in mathematics. But it is very difficult to use a formula in 56 out a maths problem. Great scientists, such as Einstein, Newton and Galileo, didn’t learn many things from school. But they were all so 57 that they invented so many things for mankind.

The 58 for their success is that they knew how to study. They read books that not 59 at school. They worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. They would ask many questions as they read and they did thousands of 60

During the winter, most London auctioneers have wine auctions. Some are of wines for 61 drinking, but most are of fine wines. Last winter, at Christies, a dozen bottles of Lafite 1954 were

62 down at 158 the bottle. 1945 and 1961 are the two most 63 vintage years for claret. Of course, that is not the maximum you could pay. Not 64 ago, an American at Christies paid 8,500 for one bottle of Lafite 1806.

Sometimes,it is a matter of personal 65 by the very rich. At other times there can be a 66 objective. Last October, a restaurateur from Memphis, paid 9,000 for a magnum— that is, a two-bottle size—of 1864 Lafite. He 67 30 people $ 1,500 each for a dinner with a small glass of the wine. It was 68 ten times the cost of the wine in publicity for his restaurant.

Of course, some people buy wine purely for investment. On the other hand,a real wine lover will use the 69 value of good wine to pay for his own drinking. A syndicate of four will buy a 70 of Lafite 1945 at, say, 2,000. Each takes three bottles. Then each drinks one bottle, and keeps the other two to sell later at the 71 price as the three cost in the first place. That is, naturally, taking inflation into 72 But there is no 73 that a bottle of wine at 1,000 is a hundred times 74 than one that costs 10. Perhaps the top price you can pay for wine to enjoy for drinking is 100 a bottle. Above 100,you are paying for something 75 than taste.

The deeper a person’s sleep becomes, the longer the periods of rapid eye movement.

There are physical charges in the body to show that a person has changed from NREM (non-rapid eye movement) to REM sleep. Breathing becomes faster, the heart rate increases, and, as the name implies, the eyes begin to move quickly.

There’s a time to get angry. And it,s best for your child if you do. Let’s say your child hits a playmate with a toy-hard enough to make the other child cry. How can you teach your child to feel sorry so he or she won’t do it again? Researchers say the best way for parents to react is to show their anger and to let the child know exactly why they are mad.

Many parents believe that it is best to control their feelings and to wait until they’re calm before scolding their children. But the mother or father who explains reasonably to a child, “Peter was crying because you hit him,”is not likely to attract much attention. Young children need to be scolded immediately, and strongly, before they’ll take criticism (批评)to heart.

When your young child does something wrong, scold him or her seriously at once. At the same time be sure to tell the child clearly what he or she has done wrong. An angry reaction without an immediate explanation does little good. Forbidding a child to play outside or not allowing him to watch TV as a punishment works well—but only when taken together with an explanation. Make certain your child understands that although his or her wrongdoing has made you angry, you still love him or her. Use simple, direct words such as, “You hurt Peter. How would you feel if he hit you? You must never, never hurt people. ” If your voice expresses strong feeling clearly, your message will carry enough weight.

105. According to researchers, how should parents react when their child did something wrong?

A. Ask the child not to do it again any time.

B. Let the child know what exactly happened.

C. Teach the child why and how to say sorry to others.

D. Show the child how angry they are and tell him or her why.

106. What do many parents think they should do with the wrong doer?

A. Speak strongly and angrily to him.

B. Hide their feelings when talking to him.

C. Explain immediately why he was wrong.

D. Calm themselves down before scolding him.

107. What could be the best tide for the text?

A. Best Ways to Stop Children’s Wrongdoings

B. Differences among Parents in Dealing with Children

C. Different ways to Deal with Children’s Wrongdoings

D. Research on Preventing Children from Hurting Others
